The talk yesterday was quite interesting, indeed. We were a half hour late… and apparently, rush hour in Boston starts at two pm. Although we were late, Hofstadter delivered a comprehensive conclusion that tied together the things we missed with the things we did hear, so I don’t think we were way out of the loop. Some interesting analogies were given regarding the “I”: the marble in the box of envelopes, the effects of taking photographs of a television screen, and the reason one domino doesn’t fall in a system of dominoes. I’d get into them here and now if it weren’t for the fact that I have to finish my French homework before I leave for school today. Perhaps I’ll elaborate later.
