consolodation

I’ve been contemplating moving my library blahg back here. You know, integrating the posts. Not that there are that many… less than six, I think. I had intended for that site to be a record of library school and what not, but it’s just a dead blahg. Nobody likes ’em dead. They start to smell. And then there’s the clean up. But you’re just so apathetic about the whole thing, you know? If I do bring it all together, then I don’t really have anything professional to present to anyone. I rather liked the idea of having the library stuff separate, so I could keep any professional stuff there. I don’t know…

Suggestions?

old skool

I’m importing the archives into WordPress. It’s tedious, but I want all the content in one place (for reals, it’s crazy scattered now). It’d be easier to import if it were automated, but I can’t considering, some of them are still in Grey Matter form, others are in text files, and still others are in Word. It’s insane. But, it’s giving me something to do while I aviod doing research for my paper. I’ve done enough for now, and will start reading stuff on Monday, so there.

[edit to add] for some reason, WP isn’t allowing me to add anymore entries right now. It keeps giving me the same error message. I’m not doing anything different from what I had already been doing, but now it won’t work. Oh, well. I’ll try to figure it out later.

[another edit to add] Apparently, it’s only having a problem with one post. Oh, and I’m including comments directly in the old posts. I’m not going to do any crazy formatting or anything. This is already tedious enough, thank you very much.

[yet another edit] 2003 is done. Woo-hah!

Fret not

Hey, everyone. As you can see, I have decided to use a blogging software to manage my blahg. I used to use Grey Matter, but one of the scripts ran amok on the server, and I had to stop using it. Since then, I have coded my own blahg. It was annoying, because I do not have enough coding skills to make an automated blahg. Every time I’d want to update, I’d cringe knowing how much tedious work it is just to get a post up, update the RSS feed, etc. (My coding skillz are as sophisticated as the web was in 1995. Yeah. Time to change.) I have done a little research, and I think WordPress is the one I’ll be happy with. It will take a while to get the site back to looking like I want it, but please bear with me.

Change is nice. It’s a little like spring cleaning. The site will probably be a bit bumpy for a little while, seeing as how I still have school work to do, but in the mean time, sit tight, and wait for the new sparkle j dot com. (Note: if you have any links to the rest of the content on the site, like the crafts and what not, you can still access them. The only thing that’s changed is the main page. Just use your bookmarks, should you have any.)

Edit to add: I thought it would be funny if I added the first post when I made this blahg three years ago. Funny, eh?
